OUTLOUD – Week 2

“Gratitude Through Obedience”

Trust is built on precedence.  The longer track-record someone has of being truthful, loyal, and supportive the more we are able to trust them.  God is infinitely truthful and faithful.  Therefore, we can trust Him even when what we feel him calling us to seems impossible or even counter productive.  Because of God’s faithfulness and trustworthiness in keeping his promises, Abraham trusted God enough to sacrifice his son Isaac, through whom Abraham expected God’s promise to be fulfilled.  That kind of trust comes only in response to an understanding of who it is that is “issuing the order.”  An uninhibited obedience to God’s ordering in our life demonstrates a deep sense of gratitude for what He has gotten us through before and an unwavering trust for where he is leading us next.
